1. Identify the parts of the brake stop. Item 1 is the brake stop bolt. Item 2 is the locking nut.
2. Loosen the locking nut by turning counterclockwise. 1/8 to 1/4 turn is all that should be needed.
3. While holding the locking nut, adjust the brake stop bolt. By turning clockwise the distance and the force required to engage the brake stop is increase. By turning counterclockwise the distance and the force required to engage the brake stop is decreased.
4. While holding the brake stop in its new position tighten the locking nut by turning clockwise. If further adjustment is needed, repeat the above steps.
